In Short

Event host Vova Azarov on stage at the Torsunov festival in Spain, 2026

In 2026, I, Vova Azarov, hosted Oleg Torsunov's health festival in Spain for the third year in a row. Ten days, around 140 participants and a packed programme: cold water, two 17 km runs, yoga, lectures, concerts and a KVN comedy contest. I was the host, ran the sound and mentored the men's team, the Bananas (21 people).

Where and How the Torsunov Festival in Spain Took Place

The festival took place at the cosy Azahar Beach apartment hotel on Spain's Costa del Azahar. It is a health festival built on Oleg Torsunov's method: daily routine, cold-water hardening, movement, lectures and spiritual practice.

My Role: Host, Sound and Mentor of the Men's Team

Event host Vova Azarov and Oleg Torsunov in Spain 2026

This was my third invitation to host the festival. For a host, that's the best review there is: when they invite you back, they trust you.

At the festival I had three jobs:

  • Host. I opened and connected every event of the day: lectures, concerts, movie night and KVN.

  • Sound. I ran the sound at every venue, so every speaker and performer could be heard clearly.

  • Mentor of the Bananas. I led the men's team of 21: supporting them, rallying them for team tasks and preparing them for performances.

Three roles at once means 10 days of non-stop work. But that is exactly what lets you see the whole festival: from the stage, from the sound desk and from inside the team.

The Programme: Cold Water, 34 km of Running and KVN

The programme combined health practices, learning and celebration. Every day started with cold water and ended with creativity.

Practice

How much and how often

Cold water and hot pool

Every day

Runs

Two runs of 17 km each

Lectures

Healthy living according to Torsunov's method

Yoga

Group classes

Prayer retreats

Three retreats in different traditions

Evening programme

Movie night, concerts and KVN (a team comedy contest)

I follow Oleg Torsunov's healthy-lifestyle practices myself. So austerities and his methods are second nature to me. I could not only host the programme but also go through it with everyone else.

A Men's Dance and Celentano's "Confessa" with a Hoarse Voice

With the Bananas we staged a men's dance. Twenty-one men of different ages and backgrounds — and one shared number on stage. Dancing together is one of the best ways to bond a men's team quickly.

At the concert I sang Adriano Celentano's "Confessa". By then my voice was hoarse from days on the mic, but the song still came off well. On stage, sincerity sometimes matters more than perfect vocals.

What Trips Like This Give You: My Takeaways After 10 Non-Stop Days

Honestly, by the end of the festival I was a little tired. But it was a good kind of tired — from work you love and people you do it for. I'm very happy to have been part of this team for the third year running.

From experience, I know that trips to places of power give you five things:

  • Energy — it lasts long after you get home.

  • Strength — routine and austerities show you what you're capable of.

  • Inspiration — for work, creativity and new projects.

  • New connections — with people who share your values.

  • Growth — personal and professional.

That's exactly why I organise trips like this myself.
